Klarna

Agentic Product Protocol

An open feed so shopping agents can see live products and prices — the discovery layer before anyone talks about agent checkout.

What it does

Launched as an open standard giving AI systems a structured feed of more than 100 million products and 400 million prices across 12 markets. CCO David Sykes: “Before agents can buy, they need to know what exists.”

Architecture

A hosted API. Merchants connect once; any supporting agent can read a normalized catalog. This is a data plane, not an autonomous payer.

Evidence

Klarna / Business Wire announcement (December 2025).

Caveat

A protocol is not a purchase. Conversion, liability, and scheme rules still sit with the payment rail.
